A UNIGLOBE Geo Travel Volunteer Experience - Part 1

Voluntourism Experience in Cambodia

Amanda Arbour, UNIGLOBE Geo Travel’s Sales Coordinator, traveled to Cambodia this December to participate in a Volunteer Experience with Developing World Connections. She shares a taste of her experience with you:

“I went to Cambodia without any expectations. I was excited to meet the local people and be a part of their daily lives. When I left two weeks later, I fell in love with the people, the culture and the country. I would never have been so fortunate to experience Cambodia the way I have if I wouldn’t have taken part on the volunteer project.

My advice to anyone that wants to travel off the beaten path is to spend a portion of your time volunteering with the local community. Working along side the families and the children has left an everlasting memory in my heart and shown me Cambodia in a way that I wouldn’t have experienced as a regular tourist.”

UNIGLOBE Geo Travel would like you to join Amanda at our Voluntourism Information Session January 28th. This is an informative presentation on the types of projects and destinations that you can take part on this New Year and add meaning to your travels. Amanda will be sharing video and photos of her experience working on the housing and development project in Cambodia.

If you live in the Edmonton, AB area and would like to participate, please RSVP for this event by filling out this form.
